On February 14th, likely the most expensive made-up holiday of all time, how can one not write about Love?
Over the years my husband and I have done a variety of things on Valentines Day – from enjoying the day with our favorite kiddos ever, to cooking dinner and watching a movie, to having a date night if it works for our schedules.
This year, we happen to be having a date night – not because it is Valentines Day – but because it was a convenient weekend where we were able to get a babysitter, and we didn’t have any plans! I think we are trying out a new place to grab some grub (and I’ll be sure to tell you how it was in a future post).
However, I’d like this post to focus on one of my absolutely favorite bible passages about True Love. I fail at this type of love, daily, sometimes hourly. It is so reassuring to know we have a Savior who doesn’t ever fail at it!
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
